What is stan?
stan is a bookable room where people can share skills and knowledge, practice, gather, and create. This flexible, queer-led space is located in the heart of Södermalm in Stockholm, a 25 m² space that offers three distinct configurations:
move is tailored for dance and physical practices, accommodating groups of up to 7.
make is ideal for crafts and table-based work, featuring 12 stations.
meet is for fully seated events or standing gatherings, for up to 25 people.
Whether you want to host a class, a workshop, or a panel discussion, stan provides a safe, inclusive and adaptable environment.
LAUNCH PRICE: 150kr/h, with a minimum of 2h per booking (0% vat)
the space
The room is situated between Mariatorget and Zinkensdamm, a 5-minute walk from those subway stations. It’s accessible directly from the street, which is calm without much traffic.
It includes access to a toilet and a shared kitchen, accessible via three steps of stairs.
When booking stan, you choose which configuration suits your activity best:

stan is available for anyone who needs it!
Crafters sharing their knowledge, dancers teaching their best moves, poets hosting a writing class, students showing their latest films, teachers leading a seminar, communities organising meetings, comedians rehearsing and anyone needing a space for creative practice, knowledge sharing and so much more!

stan is available for one-off activities and recurring bookings, depending on availability. Check the schedule, choose the configuration that best suits your needs, and submit a booking request on the book the space page.
stan is bookable from 10am to 8pm, Monday through Sunday.
(Bookings outside these hours may be subject to additional fees.)

stan is queer-led and intended to be a welcoming and accessible space for different bodies, identities, backgrounds, practices, and levels of experience.
The room is on the ground floor, but the toilet and shared kitchen are only accessible through three steps.
The space is still becoming what it will be. And feedback is always welcome!
stan is small enough to listen, adapt, and change. I hope the people who use it will have a hand in shaping what it becomes.
